Western Scenic Wonders
Three nights on the West Highland Line: Loch Lomond and Glen Falloch, Ben Nevis, the Silver Sands of Morar, Glenfinnan, and Mount Stuart on the Isle of Bute.

Day by day
- Day 1
Edinburgh to Spean Bridge
The train departs Edinburgh in the early afternoon and heads west through Falkirk to Craigendoran, start of the West Highland Line. Afternoon tea with a first glimpse of Loch Lomond, then the climb up waterfall-rich Glen Falloch and north to Spean Bridge for the night. Informal dinner and entertainment in the Observation Car.
- Day 2
Arisaig, Glenfinnan & Fort William
Continue west through Fort William with views of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest peak. Stop at Arisaig to walk the Silver Sands of Morar and look across to the Isle of Skye's Cuillin mountains. Lunch on board, then the Glenfinnan Monument, where a Highlander explains the area's history, and tea at Inverlochy Castle — or walk to the Steall Waterfall in Glen Nevis.
- Day 3
The Isle of Bute
Journey to the Isle of Bute and visit Mount Stuart, a Victorian Gothic house with a collection of family portraits, where a Shakespeare First Folio was discovered in 2016. A formal dinner on the last night as the train travels from Gourock to Kilmarnock.
- Day 4
Kilmarnock to Edinburgh
A Scottish breakfast as Edinburgh's skyline comes into view; farewell at Edinburgh Waverley.
Excursions and timings can change at the operator's discretion; the confirmed itinerary is sent before departure.
- Loch Lomond and Glen Falloch
- Silver Sands of Morar and views of Skye's Cuillin
- Glenfinnan Monument or the Steall Waterfall walk
- Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute
A day aboard
Days follow an unhurried rhythm: a full Scottish breakfast, a two-course lunch and afternoon tea on scenic runs, then a three-course dinner with cheeseboard, coffee and petits fours. Dinners alternate between informal evenings (smart casual) and formal or gala nights, when a dark suit, tuxedo or kilt is customary for gentlemen and a cocktail dress or tartan for ladies. All meals, all drinks — including an extensive whisky selection — excursions and nightly entertainment in the Observation Car are included in the fare. Most evenings the train stables in a quiet country station, so you sleep to stillness rather than motion.
